Introverts are known to prefer their own company than the company of others. They are also in touch with their own emotions and thoughts, allowing them to focus better.
In the workplace, being an introvert can also be seen through one’s actions. Introverts prefer to do things on their own or work with people who understand what you think. They are also not vocal when it comes to opinions and would wait to speak out loud.
Being an introvert is not bad, especially in the workplace. However, sticking on your own can be bad for your career. Extroverts often get the promotions because they are ready to contribute. If you are an introvert, what can you do to grow in the workplace you are in?
Here are 7 tips you can try to improve your standing in the office.
1. Prepare in Advance and Share Your Ideas
When your team leader announces a meeting about your next project, prepare yourself for the discussions. Think about what will happen in the meeting and make notes.
You can also list down the questions or ideas you want to share for the meeting. You can also email your leader again after your meeting to get more information.
2. Build Connections
Even if you are an introvert, it can be very daunting to be on your own. You are also not the only one who prefers being on their own. Reach out to them and befriend them.
You can also talk to them about your ideas which you can’t normally share with your other peers. Your co-workers may even help you out during your next conference and be long-time friends.
3. Showcase Your Skills
Take some time to think about your skills and recognize that you can do it. Once you recognize what you can do, find ways to show these skills.
Once your co-workers see that you work efficiently on your own, they will recognize it and respect your style.
4. Present Yourself as a Potential Leader
While introverts do not want to be in the spotlight, they should still try their best to volunteer. This will help you show your colleagues your authority and your unique leadership style.
Introverts will not have problems leading their team because their cautious and patient demeanor will relax the team.
5. Use Other Messaging Options
If speaking out loud is not your thing, introverts can use other messaging options to reach out to their coworkers. You can use online messaging services or emails to share ideas.
While some work deals with emails, emails can make a difference when sharing ideas.
6. Have some quiet time in your schedule
Introverts can get overworked and stressed because of their office environment. To get rid of all this stress, take some time to relax and unwind. This will help you recharge and become more productive when you go back to work.
Some introverts I know like to “disappear” during lunch time to eat on their own or they will group around other introverts to share quiet time with.
7. Use your personality to your advantage
Finally, introverts can use their mysterious personality to win coworkers over. Show some of your talents and quirks to catch their eye and let them know its interesting to get to know you.
You are patient, you think quietly and you present a certain calming aura around you. Use those qualities to your advantage!
Conclusion
Introverts have a lot of potential, especially in the workplace. Believe in yourself and with these tips above, we are sure you will be able to showcase your talents in the workplace.

Thanks Kally, once again you have reached out to offer great advice.
I’m personally an extrovert (normally) though I do have my introvert times.
Our God given personalities are what we are; NOT who we are; so we ought not get us depressed. Success is personally defined by each of us; so be excellent at who and what you are,
God Bless,
Patrick
