Gathering from some of my friends and my ex-colleagues the latest gossips of the month, I am here to share some of the craziest things people do to kiss their bosses’ arse. You’re more than welcome to share what you’ve heard or seen in the comments below!!
We all hate a particular manager because she is super selfish and more than often blame others for her mistakes. She has a sidekick, which is her assistant manager (which we hate him even more) who follows her around like a lost puppy. Whenever she is not around, he will try to get chummy with us to collect ‘feedback’ and tell us when the manager is back.
Olivia, Corporate Communications
One job that Paul did great in his job is to buy lunch for our boss. Mind you, our boss loves to eat a certain babyback rib that takes two hours to queue for it and Paul always there rain or shine.
Jackie, Operation Specialist
Karen threw her whole team under the bus and committed to extra work shift on Christmas Day without consulting them just to suck up to the management. Everyone hated her for that and refused to speak to her for a week.
Penny, Retail Outlet Executive
I was wondering why my sister had to borrow a hundred dollar from me until I bug her enough for her to shamefully confessed that she wanted to buy that expensive branded cashmere scarf for her boss on her birthday. My sister was barely into her new job for a month! Such a suck up. Haha.
George, Nursing Assistant
This is entirely true! My ex-colleague, Sarah broke up with her 3 months old boyfriend just because she overheard that our manager thinks he is cute. The great thing was that our manager and her boyfriend did get together, but we all could tell Sarah was miserable inside. She resigned when she received their wedding invitation.
Adelene, Office Administrator
I know of one guy who babysits his boss’s 2 pit bull terriers for 3 months while his boss is on an overseas assignment. He put his whole life on hold, moved into his boss’s house and made sure the dogs was happy. The thing is Francis is terrified of dogs.
Sam, Investment Banker
My boss, Janet is great, and she hates suck ups especially if your work is not up to standards. This new girl came in and bought all sorts of presents and goodies to kiss her arse even though Janet specifically told her not to. Her work wasn’t that bad, but she seems to have more interest in apple polishing than her work. The last straw was when she bought Janet a pair of opera tickets that is really expensive. Janet had no choice but to turn over those tickets to HR and fire her.
Marlene, Media Consultant
Greg is a nice chap, and we all love him to bits because he is funny and helpful. We never knew how wealthy he was until he invited our new editor to his country house for a weekend. Our editor said he owns acres of land, has a stable, a team of servants and some antique cars in the garage. After that, we realised why Greg and our ex-editor always spend the weekends together.
