The COVID-19 pandemic has made many of us worry about our future, especially in our finances, as many businesses and companies had to shut down temporarily or permanently. With this said, getting a stable source of income is trickier than ever before.
If you are looking for some ideas on how to make quick bucks during this pandemic, here are five ways to get you started:

Babysitting
Many working parents would welcome any help they could get to take care of their children at home. If you have basic knowledge and experience of teaching or taking care of children, you can try to be a babysitter and your assistance will surely go a long way.
You can do babysitting services in two ways: turning your home into a babysitting centre or catering your services at the child’s home. If you plan to do the first option, you will need to get the right licences and insurances to run your business. However, you can skip this part if you are only planning to watch over a few kids.
The second option is more common, especially to those who want to do it part-time. You can take care of the children while waiting for their parents to come back from work. If you have additional skills like tutoring or cleaning the home efficiently, you can increase your rate.

Selling Your Things
If you have some stuff lying around the house that you are not using anymore, why not make some quick money by selling them? You can easily do this by signing up on online shopping platforms like eBay, Facebook Marketplace, or Carousel. You can also make a personal shop on Facebook, Shopee, Lazada, and more.
Aside from secondhand items, you can also sell other things like your handcrafted art decors, homemade food, and others. Check the prices of your possible competitors and set up a reliable delivery network. Remember that before selling your things, make sure to check their quality and tag them with reasonable prices so you will not attract bad reviews to your shop.

Running Errands
For some people, getting essentials outside their homes can be a difficult task due to the pandemic. Others cannot go out at all because of their current physical condition or age since the government has stricter guidelines when it comes to them.
If you have a car or scooter, why not try to run errands for them for a few dollars? You can post your services on social media, or you can sign up for Uber, Grab Foods, and others. Make sure to list down the areas you know, so you can be more efficient in delivering items on time.

Freelancing Gigs
Do you have any skills or specialisations apart from your career? Do you want to earn from jobs related to writing, graphic designing, program coding, and others? If yes, then you can try to apply for some freelance jobs.
Nowadays, there are many freelancing sites that you can sign up for various job openings, such as Indeed, Upwork, and Flexjobs. Skim through the job offers posted by different clients worldwide and bid for the tasks you want to try out. If you become a successful freelancer, you can earn up to $10,000 depending on the skills you offer.

Teach Someone
If you are skilled and knowledgeable in a particular area, you can conduct online workshops or offer private classes online. Attract participants by posting your ads on your social media or joining online teaching web platforms to offer your classes. You can set up a session through Zoom, Google Meet, and other video conferencing platforms. Make sure to create good audio and visual setup so your participants can be more engaged and attentive.
Conclusion
Even though the pandemic is still going on, there is no reason for you to stay idle and not look for opportunities to help you earn some money. With these five job prospects, you can start building your income that can help you survive this pandemic. And even after the pandemic, these jobs does make a good side income while having a full time job.

Hi, Kally.
Although I am officially out of the workforce, I always find your blogs on the processes, ideas and ethics of working informative and fun to read. Perhaps you should consider doing a book?
I would love to be your editor, and I work reeeally cheap for friends. 😉

Great ideas thank you for sharing, I have been try to find reliable sites to tutor chemistry online. It has really been difficult to find reliable sites, but I keep looking for more ideas.

One way is to look at the physical tuition schools in your country/area. Because it’s pandemic right now, they may offer online courses to allow their students to learn from home. You can check if they need extra hands in chemistry tutoring.

I was really surprised to see babysitting on this list. I assumed most people wouldn’t want to have either another person coming to their house or their kid going to someone else’s house right now. Though I can see why parents might want those services even more! 😅

Haha. I guess when in a lockdown, the parents are stuck with the kid 24/7 for endless months. A babysitter for a few hours will save their sanity.
