10 Things You Can Easily Make and Sell for Extra Cash

Nowadays, it is not uncommon to hear about office workers who quit their 9-to-5 jobs for a home business selling products they made that are more successful than they initially thought. If your work is getting to you, it is not hard to dream about doing the same thing while ensuring you can still live comfortably.

There are many products out there that you can try to make yourself at home with a massive market of potential buyers online. They are also fast to make in bulk and inexpensive, to begin with.

If you need some ideas on what you can easily make and sell to make extra cash, here are 10 things you can start with:

1. Bath Bombs

To create bath bombs, you need to get a mould in the shape you want and combine key ingredients like essential oils, botanicals and others. You can even combine different scents to create a new scent not available anywhere.

2. Personalised Gifts

You can also start providing personalised gifts that people can give to their loved ones or as a souvenir or giveaways. These personalised gifts can be in date stamps and monogrammed stationery. You can even ask your clients how you want them to be personalised for an extra unique touch.

3. Jewellery

Some people want personalised jewellery that will fit their specific tastes and preferences and jewellery from known brands. If you cater to this market, you can find gemstone crafter kits online, and gemstone sellers offer affordable gems, wires, settings and even the tools you need to make professional jewellery from home.

4. Printed Merchandise

If you don’t want to have a stock inventory at home or you don’t want to make it physically, you can always use computer software to design prints and get the designs printed on any chosen merchandise. From t-shirts and mugs to even bags, you can easily build an inventory and get it sent to your clients.

5. Sweets

Out of all the products you can easily make and sell, sweets are the best seller. Pick the sweets you want to sell and be creative about presenting them. You should have various options, especially low-sugar or vegan sweets. A great time to make extra cash with sweets is during holidays and special events.

6. Sewn Items

Are you good with your hands and can sew items like mini plush dolls, embroidery and the like? If that is a yes, you can make a profit from your skills. Some of the demographic who will love sewn items are mothers and teenagers who want something unique for their use or decorations.

7. Holiday Decorations

Holidays should be celebrated and made memorable in any way we can. One way you can do this is by purchasing unique holiday decorations and putting them around the house. Think about what handmade decorations you can make at home, like ornaments or wreaths, and create them to the style you want. Of course, you don’t have to focus on just one holiday, so pick the one that speaks to you the most and plan accordingly!

8. Curated Gifts or Subscription Boxes

Curated gifts or subscription boxes can also be an item you can sell online and make comfortably at home. Pick a monthly theme for your subscription box or curated gift and add items that are related to that theme. For example, you can theme a monthly snack box to focus on holiday-only snacks and things.

9. Pet Accessories

You can find a niche in selling personalised pet accessories, especially with the growing number of pet owners in the country. From toys to fashion accessories, you have a lot of options to choose from to make and sell online.

10. Courses

You can also make personalised courses online and sell them to those who need assistance on specific topics. You can record the lessons in key parts of your home depending on the topic you want to teach, and the more in-depth it is, the more you can charge. Some examples of courses you can sell online include cooking, photography and other topics you can think of.

Whether you are a beginner or someone who has advanced skills in creating things, you can find something to make and sell online. Do your research today to see which one works for you, and good luck!

I have tried before using dropshipping but it is wrong timing (pandemic time 2020) and since then I didn’t try again as it still has one main problem up to now which is the delivery period. It is a big risk and one reason why the customers cancel their order and you ended up losing money and more hassles of refunding them etc.

There are too much competition in dropshipping unless your product is really unique and in demand in your location.

Great ideas for a way to add some extra income. I would add one comment is that creators be aware of shipping cost, and that some sellers’ sights will want a percentage. So factor that cost into whatever one is selling.

Good suggestion!! Unless they can make and ship within the same country, I can imagine the cost will be more manageable that way before exploring to expand internationally.
