Learn to incorporate SEO

Knowing what aspects of your design are under the large umbrella of SEO will help you build a more workable site.  There’s a lot to search engine optimization, so you might want to outsource the job of incorporating SEO.

It may be best to leave the SEO to the professionals, and hire an agency that is fluent in the SEO trends of the year.  Proper SEO will place your website at the forefront of the SERPs (search engine results pages), and give your business a better chance of being seen online.

Assure fast loading speeds

Your site’s loading speeds make all the difference when you’re working to get people to spend more time on your site.  You will have to have a speedy loading domain to even get in the proverbial door with consumers online. If you’re stuck, look at using website services to help get you on the right track.

If your pages don’t load within just a couple seconds of landing, then you need to find out what is dragging your pages down.  For example, compressing image files is one way to reduce page loading speeds.

Make sure your content is engaging

Developing the content on your site is key, because you want users to engage with your pages.  The more you can get users to interact with your website content, the more likely that person is to make a purchase with your business.

Adding a blog page to your site helps give people something to keep them busy.  You should also invest in the incorporation of several strong calls to action.  Short phrases like “click here” or “leave a comment” are excellent for getting people to take action on your pages.

Encourage users to communicate

Encouraging users to communicate with your business also helps to raise user engagement on your website.  Adding a simple email signup form works wonders for the support of your outreach.  Adding a comment section on your blog allows people to communicate as well.

Make navigation simple for users

As digital success is largely dependent upon engagement, it is an ongoing theme in business website design.  Building a simple form of navigation for users makes it easier for everyone to explore all the twists and turns of your site.

  1. Thanks for these tips, I think they are very useful and I really agree with you on most of them. SEO certainly is very important for your website. Especially if you are a blogger. If you have a shop, and already have an established customer base that frequently comes back, it might be a little less important though.

I also believe that incorporating the ability to share content on social media is important. People that are browsing your website want some social approval, this could be in the form of comments, reviews, or showing how many shares content got.

Besides that, I think email marketing is also very important, an email list can help your businesses immensely by reaching your loyal customers directly in the mailbox.

Keep up the good work Kally! Great article!
