The only problems with “better[ing] yourself” is that we are weak spiritually and creatures of habit, and bad habits form when we are children, even at very early ages. One needs to tap into a “higher power” to better oneself, and there is no higher power than The God Who Is Here, our Creator who has revealed Himself most clearly in Jesus.
See Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, four very short books in the Bible to learn about Him, but then talk with Him in prayer and get to know Him personally.

  2. It is good to reflect back over our lives to see where we have come from to where we are now. We go through things in life that we struggle through, but during that time we are growing stronger. We seek guidance from our Creator who will lead and guide us through life, but if we don’t ever look back over our lives, we will forget from whence we came. We can better ourselves by changing the things we do, where we go, and who we socialize with. Sometimes we run into those who are always negative with nothing positive to say, and those are the ones we must keep ourselves from so we can have a better outlook for ourselves. Reflect on the positive points and don’t focus on the negative, but always remember who you are and whose you are because this world is not our permanent home. I like your post. It really made me think. I guess that’s why I responded the way I did. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week.
