Hmm, too vague. Although Martin Buber is an outstanding theologian and teacher, more context for this would make better sense. We must see ourselves accurately, AS ‘THE GOD WHO IS’ SEES US. Only when we realize our sinfulness and His grace in Jesus the Christ will be redeemed. The danger with only this quote is that it leaves too much open to “how we see ourselves.”
However, the picture showing the exuberant celebrant NOT in the driver’s seat is germane; whoever he/she is, that man or woman has left the ‘driving’ up to Jesus. 😉
Makes sense!
