Hmm, Johnny Depp is usually not a great resource for theology nor philosophy, and this one is no exception. 😏
Tragically, too many people DO close their hearts to things they should feel.
1 Timothy 4 talks about those who have seared their own consciences. In his second letter to his protege, Paul gets more pessimistic about those with seared consciences, and says they will become “lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”
Know anyone that qualifies for any of these characteristics? Probably we all do. Hopefully WE are not going to be like that, but will open our eyes and our hearts to all that God has for us, even if it is painful.
True enough! Our deepest emotions really shows no matter how we try neglect it.

So very true. It is important that we also learn how to properly handle those things we feel so that we handle them correctly without overthinking.

Thank you, Kate. I’m doing pretty well. Been busy for a few weeks. We’ve been waiting for travel to start again so we can go home.
How are you doing, Kate?

Johnny Depp’s words capture the emotional side of life. Sometimes we don’t feel comfortable with rejection or acceptance.
