I CERTAINLY do agree that brains and effort are also REQUIRED. But brains and effort alone; without sufficient start up capitol; is a business doomed , IMO, to failure.
I am not sure I agree with this one. There are a lot of business that are pivoting, and doing everything they can to stay a float, but it just doesn’t seem to be enough during this pandemic.

I will agree with The lack of brains and knowledge But not effort. Everyone I’ve known who had a small business worked 24/7

Some other factors which I have noticed: Lack of delegation and trust leading to over-centralization, and a tendency to not to tolerate dissent.
