For most of us, it is very difficult to manage our personal life with work. Sometimes, it feels like work is taking over our lives and we can’t seem to find time for ourselves and for our families. If we tried to move away from work and tried to give time for ourselves, we lose money.
So, what should we do? Should we continue working nonstop and let our work dominated your life? Or should we find balance?
Here are several reasons why you should try your best to achieve a work-life balance:
- You are not necessarily happier if you have loads of money
Some people believe that happiness can be achieved by having more money. It is not necessarily true.
Sure, you can buy anything you want if you have loads of money. But, your family life isn’t very strong since you think more about work than them. More money even gives you stress because you need to keep working to maintain it.
- It will reduce your stress and prevent you from burning out
Stress is a given when you are an employee. However, if you do not unwind and destress, you will definitely burnout from trying to do everything. Experiencing a burnout can affect your entire life, especially your personal life.
If you work on your work-life balance, you can separate your work life with your home life and keep the stress away from home.
- You can focus better
When you reach a state of work-life balance, you will find yourself able to focus on things better.
Since you are not stressing about work while at home, you can focus on your personal life better and enjoy everything with them. Once you go to work, you become more productive and efficient.
- You are less prone to sickness
Stress and tiredness affect our health in more ways than one. Stress, in particular, can trigger a variety of conditions if it is not treated immediately: from flu to respiratory problems.
Having a work-life balance can help reduce the onset of stress and help you find time to keep yourself healthy. If you are healthy in both mind and body, you will definitely see a difference with your work and well-being.
- You can enjoy what you love
You can purchase anything you want if you have more money, but will you be able to enjoy it? Having a good work-life balance will not just allow you to enjoy what you love and have with the people you love.
As we age, we have different needs and wants. It takes time to develop or discover other passions in your life. Without taking time to reflect the important things in your life, you may miss out opportunities to understand yourself better.
- You won’t miss another important moment
If you keep focusing on work, you wouldn’t be able to enjoy what life has to offer. Missed birthdays, wedding anniversaries even the growth of your child are important milestones that create your life memories. So it is equally crucial to pay attention to committing time and attention in your personal life.
Lastly…
Work is just one aspect of life that we have to deal with. It is not something that should take over our lives completely. Even if you do not work as hard as others to get high salary, if you can enjoy life’s greatest pleasures despite your busy schedule, life would be more fulfilling to live in.

Balance in life is very important at the same time money will take a major role to sustain our life. Refresh with family or friends, that is a good choice! But most of us wouldn’t get these opportunities!

Work-life balance is so important. I completely agree. I had a massive burnout as I was doing a job that wasn’t aligned with my values for too long. Yet I kept gritting my teeth and feeling like there was no alternative. It took me a while to recover but now I’ve finally realised that there are always other choices. And as you say – we don’t need money and stuff to be happy. Thanks for the post 🥰
