Sounds to me a bit like Machiavelli: “The ends justify the means.” There are different ways of defining “success,” and different ways of achieving it. Figuring out our survival isn’t too hard. What’s more important is having the time to meta-think. Socrates: “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Roger Waters (Pink Floyd): “Balanced on the biggest wave / You race towards an early grave.”
