Music plays a big part in my life. I have use music to set my mood on a day to day basis like getting my daughter to sleep (Yellow by Coldplay) or getting ready for a hot date with my significant half (I got a feeling by Black Eyed Peas) or decking myself up for a girls night out (Lady Hear Me Tonight by Mojo).
I even use music in my workplace. I know it has done wonders for complimenting my work mood and getting ready for almost anything from a new job to an important presentation. If I am facing a daunting task, instead of procrastinating, I’ll play a bubbly song to kickstart a positive vibe.
One of the daunting tasks is presenting in front of top management and I shall admit I almost always get jitters in my stomach, no matter how prepared I am. I’m not about to allow nerves to get better of me so music is a fast and great therapy to ease those nerves. Below is the list of songs I love to blast before I step into the boardroom for a huge presentation.
Fight Song by Rachel Platten
Welcome to the Jungle by Guns n’ Roses
Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
Happy by Pharrell Williams
Don’t worry be happy by Bob McFerrin
Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves
Lovely Day by Bill Withers
Radioactive by Imagine Dragons
Sucker For Pain by Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons
Try by Pink
Drag Me Down by One Direction
Uprising by Muse

I may prefer soft tracks or may be just instrumental music while I’m working. Want my mind at ease in office.

I actually don’t listen to music while I work per se. I prefer to listen to them to prep myself for the big stuff like a meeting or a presentation. 🙂

Yes I have, according to my age. Pink Floyd are always my favourite

Thanks, Patty!! I just love it when a familiar song comes on the radio, makes me sing along while I type out my work.

Yup, music made my work relationship better until there was a ban on using earpiece during office hours. Music is surely a good mood lifter.

I used songs to introduce a literary piece back then when i was still teaching. I remembered playing the song hero by Mariah Carey after which i discussed Iliad and Oddysey..
