However, please do not rely on them completely, as they may overlook certain positions or skill sets that match your needs. You should also update your profile or resume so the AI platform can provide accurate results for your reference.

Writing Your Resume And Cover Letter

If you are worried about your resume and cover letter, you can use AI to provide you with prompts to improve them and learn how to write them. You can upload your resume or cover letter to your chosen AI generator, such as ResumA.I. or ChatGPT, and write the appropriate prompts for the generator to identify the areas you should edit. It can also help you organise your resume, allowing you to present your skills more effectively.

However, you mustn’t let the AI create your resume or cover letter for you, as this can compromise authenticity. You should also avoid adding too many buzzwords listed by AI in your resume because hiring managers can immediately spot these points.

Practice Your Interviews

AI can also assist you in preparing for the interview. AI tools, such as Google’s Interview WarmUp, ChatGPT, and CareerKaki, can generate interview questions that you may encounter during an interview. As you answer the prompts, the AI tool can help you tailor your answer to these questions. Some paid AI tools can even assess your body language as you try to answer the questions provided.

Just make sure that you do not memorise the answers given to you by the AI because your answers will need to be flexible based on what the recruiter asks. It is also recommended that you do a mock interview with another person to get more experience.

Networking

If networking is a challenge, AI tools can be your virtual assistant, suggesting events and potential connections based on your profile. When reaching out, always personalize your message, even if AI helps draft it. Remember, nothing can replace the value of a face-to-face conversation, so aim to meet your potential connections in person.

AI can certainly enhance your profile’s appeal to potential employers, reducing the need for extensive application revisions. However, it’s important not to become overly reliant on it. Even if it accelerates your job search and application process, using AI wisely, in conjunction with the tips provided, will help you maintain the quality of your job search. This way, employers can still see your potential and personality, even with AI’s assistance.
