I’ve done that, and I suspect so have countless others (knowingly or unknowingly). When we leave a current secure position and seek other opportunities; to vastly differing degrees we are GOING INTO THE UNKNOWN; even if we are sure of our own abilities; there exist darn few jobs that do not require interaction with others; and THOSE can be justifiably scary . Most position demand that we rely on others too. …But THAT is “life.”
Shakespeare’s sage advice then applies here: “To thy own self be true.”
If you’re Blessed with the gifts and talents needed for the job; GO FOR IT!
