You know, there are always posts and articles out there that tell you that you don’t love what you are doing and you should change your job or your situation.
So today, I’m going to share something I did many years ago at one of my job where I was a customer service manager for an Internet company. Something silly but it amuses the hell out of my bosses when they saw it.
I handwrote a note that listed my worst experiences at each of my ex-companies. Instead of counting down and breathe deeply whenever I get a nasty customer’s referral case (those that demands to speak to a manager), I silently read my list and tell myself to be grateful for the wonderful job I’m in right now. Breathe, Kally, Breathe.
You can do the same note as I did or you can write down the list I have prepared for you today. Just highlight or copied whatever is applicable onto a note and paste it at your eye level on your desk.
Repeat after me: Life couldn’t get any better, I freaking love my job because…
- I get to wear whatever I want
- My job makes me smile
- My job makes me think
- I’m challenged everyday
- It makes want to get out of bed
- I can make important decisions
- It allows me to change the world
- Of my awesome colleagues
- Of my wonderful boss
- Of my salary
- The number of days I get off work
- I get to travel for work
- The nice people I met through work
- I get respected for my choices
- I get acknowledgement for my work
- My bosses love what I can do
- I get my financial independence
- I get to wear my new clothes to work (it’s true…freelancers never buy new clothes because who do we have to impress?)
- I love lunchtime with my work buddies
- I love emptying my brain during a brainstorming session
- My achievements are rewarded
- I love my desk (one of the companies I worked in has such nice desk that I replicate it in my home)
- Of Friday dress down days
- We have beer after Friday workday
- I know I can make things right
- I know my colleagues love me
- My benefits are awesome
- I love my staff purchase and so do my friends
- It gives me an identity
- I have learned plenty since I joined
- I’m exposed to a lot of opportunities
- I get to challenge my creativity
- I’m given space to create and produce
- I feel I’m making a difference in the world
- My colleagues are my best friends as well
- Of my pretty uniform
- I love working in Shanghai

- because I make a difference in the lives around me, I’m my only employee, but I work with wonderful colleagues and I stay physically active. Pretty awesome reasons to love my job! (Contributed by cognizantre construction)

Help me finish this list! Tell me why you freaking love your job in the comments and I will add yours in! Write as many as you want and maybe we can reach 100 reasons why we freaking love our jobs so much.
And if we do hit 100 reasons, I’ll republish this post again once we reach that number. So come on, beam me with your positivity.

Hi! Great post, I just came across your blog in a comment and your posts are interesting. I like this post because it gets me thinking about the things that I have gained from every job that I just had to get out of.
I recently blogged about how even if we completed hated a position, there was always something to gain from every experience and this is gratifying that I’m not the only one trying to use positive thoughts to get through the work day!
One thing I would add to the list being grateful to have time to myself at work to be able to think and reflect.
Thanks hope you have a great weekend

What I can say is that only few of us are so lucky to do what they really like but what the most of don’t realize is that having a job and may be a good one is luck enough plus the attitude you approached it is what it makes the difference.Positivity and good ethic can really change things upside down.

I’m long retired {and OLD!}
But I tell my son who is a sales manager for 3 stores: ..Son, you’re attitude is your responsibility; only YOU can make it good or bad.
Like you just shared; that is a KEY to successful management: Be HAPPY and so will those around you.
Continued Blessings,
Patrick
