Lessons from Actors & Actresses

I have a wonderful friend who is an actor. Not nearly as famous as he would like to be, I am amazed by his perseverance and passion in pursuing the art. It is nearly as detrimental to your ego (as rejections goes) and your bank account. Many of the actors and actresses started out tough and rough on their own before the golden chance is presented. Here are some of their old lives before they make it to the big screen.

1) I loved doing ‘Pennies from Heaven.’ Because you have to understand that I’d been doing comedy for 15 to 20 years, and suddenly along came the opportunity to do this beautiful film. It was so emotional to me. I loved it. I don’t think it was a good career move, but I have no regrets about doing it. ~ Steve Martin

2) I think it’s no secret that I’ve tried to take chances in my career and also in my life, and I believe to not live in fear. ~ Nicolas Cage

3) I had a certain career as an actor that I think was quite personal as well, and had a lot of integrity, but I wasn’t writing my own things or directing my own movies. ~ Jodie Foster

4) I love singing, and I came to absolutely adore it in the later part of my career. ~ Julie Andrews

5) If the career you have chosen has some unexpected inconvenience, console yourself by reflecting that no career is without them.~ Jane Fonda

Determination goes a long way in any career. But even more so in the movie business: in fact all these ladies are lovely but also pretty tough cookies 🙂
