Why Foreigners Are Attracted to Come to Singapore for Work

Current government data shows that people are migrating from all over the world to come and work in Singapore. There must be a good reason why this trend is happening. Could it be because Singapore has numerous jobs that her internal workforce cannot handle? Or is it that she wants to get foreign skills and grow her economy?

After deep research across many documents, these are the main reasons why foreigners keep trickling into the Lion City for work.

Friendly People

Everyone in Singapore is friendly and full of respect to everyone who steps foot here. In fact, that is one of the reasons why doing business in Singapore is very easy. Likewise, any new foreign employees will receive all of the support they need from employers, colleagues, and everyone they meet in Singapore. A person will settle faster than they think once they set their feet here.

Availability of Well-Paying Jobs

Foreigners are offered different job categories in Singapore, all of which have a lucrative salary pitched with them. What matters are the skills and experience that you have. The good thing is that there are many job openings in this country. The many businesses that are operated here mainly provide these job opportunities. Furthermore, the state has many manufacturing factories for electronics, IT gadgets, and textiles, which also offers numerous jobs to both the locals and foreigners. This makes it easy to get a job in Singapore that definitely pays well.

Friendly Policies

The Singaporean government has played a significant role in attracting foreigners to come and live here. They have set immigration rules and regulations that are straightforward and foreigners are rarely locked out if they have qualified. That is why the Visa Express website has been very active in helping those who are interested in working in Singapore. You too can apply for Singaporean jobs if you have qualified for one.

Friendly Taxation System

Most people are scared of taxation, especially when they are in a foreign country. But the system in Singapore is very simple. First of all, Singapore has an agreement with different countries to avoid charging double to individuals and even businesses. And when you have to remit taxes in the country, the process is straightforward and easy. This is one thing that most people love about the state.

Opportunity to Explore Singapore

For the adventurous types, Singapore is the place to work because you will get the opportunity to visit numerous attraction sites. Whether you are an outgoing person who loves the nightlife or the outdoor activity enthusiast who likes spending the weekends in an incredible way, Singapore has this covered for you. There is vibrant city life, tranquil beaches, delicious cuisine, and attractive man-made features to explore for those who love this way of life. Aside from working, Singapore has a lot more to offer.

Conclusion

Most people are attracted to come here and work because Singapore is a friendly and welcoming state. The number of foreign workers keeps increasing as jobs increase. Most people start seeking permanent residency once they get a job here and later become expats.

I agree to what the author Kelly says that Singapore is very business oriented giving many facilities to investors to do business and establish project but the living expenses are high especially renting a private apartment could reach 5 thousand to 7 thousand dollars monthly …

Despite the relatively high wages in Dubai and the luxury available, married people who want to enroll kids in a school in Dubai would pay very high school bills for private so many married people who work in Dubai put their children in schools outside Emirates ( foreigners in Dubai could not attend a public school which is only for UAE nationals according to the laws and regulations there ) …

Thank you for sharing insights that Dubai is similar to Singapore in terms of cost. I know Dubai is expensive but didn’t know it’s so skyhigh!

I don’t mind old buildings but location and size are huge factors for me. I love waking up to birdsong, live in a resort style apartment and 10 mins from the city central. That’s where I’m living right now!

The number of foreigners is crazy in Singapore. Many are against the foreign talent from coming into Singapore and taking away their jobs (talking about managers and office jobs). However, I think Singapore is going her best. She has one of the lowest unemployment rate in the world.

  12. Confirming what many here already have written, my colleague’s sister and brother-in-law used to work/live in Singapore. They loved the places – the excitement, the cuisine, the vitality, but found it to be ruinously expensive.

They live in Chicago now, and though it’s comparatively more affordable, they both miss Singapore.
