Employees are a key to a business’ success and every boss takes this by heart. They will search everywhere just to find that perfect employee who could help them succeed.

Of course, when we are hired, we will do our best to help our employers because it important for our career. However, we cannot act haphazardly because one wrong move can destroy the goal’s progress.

If you want your boss to love you and help them make their goals a reality, here are the 7 things you should do:

  1. Get to know your employers

Before you try helping out your boss in reaching his targets, you should get to know how the whole company or business works first.

Understand every aspect of your job and know what they prefer. If they see you are trying in taking their preferences into consideration, they will appreciate your thoughtfulness.

  1. Know the company’s goals

Aside from knowing the ins and outs of your job and your boss’s preference, know what your company or business is trying to reach.

Understand the number of active projects and other accounts and use the numbers to determine how you can help achieve or complete them.

  1. Do not surprise your boss

If there is an issue that arose during your tasks, do not keep it a secret from your boss. Immediately let them know and do not blindside them because it will only lead to chaos and frustration.

  1. Do not wait for your boss to help you

If you want your career to take off, you must be able to conform to any challenge without too much assistance. Your boss will not stop to teach you everything.

Only ask your boss to spare you some time if it is about collaboration work. If you need help for other issues, you can reach your co-workers for help. Or else, reach out for help online to do some self-improvement.

  1. Meet all your deadlines

When you are given a project by your boss, do not dawdle! Do it immediately and aim to finish them a day in advance.

When you do so, you will give your boss time to see if you need to revise anything. Cramming it and giving it at the last minute will only pose problems.

  1. Provide solutions to problems

Your task does not include pointing out every problem that appears before the company. Instead, it is your duty to help with the solutions to resolve these problems.

Do not complain about the problems that may arise, act upon it calmly and when you are asked, say you are solving the problem already.

  1. Do what you speak

As employees, it is important you are true to what you say. If you say you will submit your report, you need to stick by it.

If you do not stick with your word, you will cause inconveniences and push back your company from its goals. You will also be seen as someone not trustworthy.

In Summary

As employees, we must be very good for our managers and bosses because the stress and pressure of making everything work is immense. Try your best in helping them achieve their targets and it will definitely make everything easier not just for your bosses, but also for your career.

In taking initiative, besides relieving your manager’s workload, you will be seen as a responsible employee who is also a team player. Someone to take notice of in the next round of appraisal!

  1. Great advice. I personally had trouble with number 3. When I was younger, I wouldn’t want to seem like I couldn’t handle a project I did not have a ggod handle on or a problem that came up and avoided talking to the boss early on. Made everything far worse. Bosses do not like to be surprised.

  2. You really make good valid points Kally. I am fortunate that I have a tendency to do those things at my place of employment, I’m very old school that way. I’m trying to instill those in my kids so that they’ll be great workers when they are ready to get into the workforce.
