We all have that one jerk in the office that you simply cannot stand. He is boisterous, arrogant, selfish little prick that everyone just wishes for his resignation. Here are some telltale signs that you have a jerk or (maybe it is YOU) in your work environment.
- Colleagues talk behind your back, and you don’t know why
- You think everyone is jealous of you
- You think everyone is bias of you
- You think everyone wants to get rid of you
- Nobody wants to have lunch with you
- You strut into a meeting late and not be ashamed
- You assume someone will save you a seat at the same meeting
- You think handing in work late is what everyone is doing
- You think you are honest when you insulted the secretary’s choice of clothes
- You called your secretary by the wrong name even though she had been working for you for the past 7 years
- You brag about how you singlehandedly top your numbers in the company….ten years ago
- You brag about who you know in the industry all the time
- You think it is God given that the receptionist should greet you every morning. Like it’s her job.
- You refused to take in anyone’s opinions and ideas even though theirs are better than your own
- You think your ideas are always better just because you know so…
- You get a stapler from Secret Santa, and you recognise it is the same type your company uses
- The only person who talks to you during the office party is your CEO
- You keep getting stuck in awkward situations without realising it
- You bark orders at people even folks that are not on your team
- You swear a lot at the tiniest thing people said or do
- Everyone seems to offend you
- Everyone appears to avoid you
- Even the janitor gets a personalised mug from secret Santa
- Nobody empties your trash bin whereas everyone’s cubicle is sparkling clean
- You gave extra work to your staff just 10 minutes before the day ends every Friday without fail
- You will call your team randomly on weekends just to make sure they are at your beck and call
- You don’t share information. Instead, you purposely leave out the key points when passing messages to someone else
- Nobody remembers your birthday, and nobody wants to anyways
- Colleagues rather email you a simple request than to walk over to your desk or even pick up the phone to talk to you
- Colleagues rather do your part of the project/work than to pair up with you or to ask you for help
Do you have such a jerk in your office? How do you feel about him or her? I probably missed out a lot of points here, and you are welcome to add in some at the comments below!

There are exceptions of course, but I think a lot of these jerks are actually very insecure.
Enjoy your weekend dear Kally!

I was thinking the same. Bragging is usually insecurity.

Yup, most jerks are very insecure folks just like bullies. I’m spending most of my weekend enjoying one on one time with the little one. Still wrapping my head around the fact I am a mom!
Have an amazing weekend, Patty!!! 😘
